FAQ: Here are some of the most asked questions we have received over the years:
-
Can we get out of our car? No sorry! We are a drive through ONLY. We ask that you stay in your cars for liability purposes...LOTS OF ELECTRICITY OUT THERE!
-
How Long does it take to drive through? About 25-30 minutes depending on how fast you drive (recommend minimum of 3 MPH, no stopping please to help us keep traffic of the highway; as we need to keep the line moving. It really helps us out when you have your exact cash/card out & ready when approaching the booth. :) Please drive slowly...but keep moving.
-
Can we go through twice? We are one of the only drive throughs that allow you to go through more then once the night you come! We allow this ONLY if we can keep the line inside our gate (for safety reasons we can't allow traffic to back up the highway... we don't want to have to temporary shut down the display, so appreciate your help with this.) We usually only have a couple of nights where this happens (weekend before Cmas)...We are able to keep traffic moving very quickly if you help us out with having payment ready when you get to the ticket booth. We recommend coming before 6:30pm or after 9. We also recommend coming on the weekday in order to repeat several times. (NOTE: This rule does apply to Season Pass holders.) We hope you understand and help us keep everyone safe and off the highway (& be good neighbors :) WE really appreciate all your support with this.

How many Lights? 2024 Season we will have more then 3.5 Million lights all programmed to music for you to EnJOY!
-
How long does it take you to put up the display? Easy answer...ALL YEAR! haha. We are a family of four that does this (& Mike does 95%), and to keep cost down, we do it all ourselves! We also work full time jobs, so this is a every evening and weekend project for us. Labor of Love for sure!
-
How do the Lights go to the Music? Mike is the brains behind that! He uses a computer program and about 80+ computer boxes (with 800 different channels he tells what to do) around the property to control every single one. It takes him 40+ hours to program one song!
-
How long have you been doing this? Well this is a 2 part answer. We have been doing lights to music at our home for 18+ years (2006). We out grew every neighborhood we ever moved to because of increased traffic, so in 2022 we felt God telling us to go look for some land to do this on...while out searching for "a blank piece of property" we stumbled upon the old Vanguard Christian School property...Long story short...God has a sense of humor! We stepped out in faith, sold our "forever home we loved" and bought a abandoned school to continue to bring JOY to our community.
-
What does Mike do for a living? Nope, Not a Electrician, or Computer Engineer...Mike is a Banker! Just super talented at his "unique hobbies!" :)
-
What does Mandy do for a living? She's a Roofer! Well she does marketing/sales for Empire Roofing & Waterproofing, but she still gets on some of the highest roofs in the area. This comes in handy when she's hanging out of our bucket truck with a chainsaw trimming the trees! No fear of heights here!
-
How much do you have invested in this? A lot. I'll let you try to do the math on this... 3.5 million lights, 15+ miles of extension cords, 70+ computer boxes to control the lights, 8 electric services (Bandera Electric Company loves us!!haha!) 1000+ different light up display items, you get the point. Not to mention this beautiful piece of property to do it on...Again...PASSION PROJECT ;)
-
Why did you start charging? Sadly, this isn't a cheap project and is the reason why we had to start charging. We just couldn't afford to keep going on our own. However, our hearts are to always give back as much as possible to our community in need. We give over 1000+ free passes to local kids in need, and donate at least 10% of profits to Shine Bright Ministries (Click on the SBM tab above to learn more about this non-profit), and we try to support every school in the area. We would very much appreciate your support to keep this going! Please share with your friends/family & write us a fabulous review on all the platforms (and don't forget to tag us on the Socials!) God Bless!

Women who are pregnant and individuals who suffer from certain health conditions, including seizures, light sensitivity, or any other health condition that could be aggravated by these special effects should consider this warning before coming on our property, as such special effects may cause or induce seizures, diminished or other health conditions. We plan on having a day with no synchronizing to support the Epilepsy Foundation but we hope you will find another stagnant display that you love.
